Cemetery Visits

I know it's recipe Tuesday, but I don't have a recipe today.  I didn't cook.  I considered asking my cousin Carol to be a guest blogger.  She is making Dandelion Jelly.  Doesn't that sound interesting?  I will see if I can get a recipe and photo from her.  And Carol if you read this, would you like to do a guest spot?  You have the best recipes.

This morning we left at 8:30am and headed North.  It is almost Memorial Day and my dad wanted to decorate the cemeteries.  I wonder what will happen when this older generation dies off.  Do you think the younger people will be interested in keeping up the cemeteries?  Since a lot of our family lived about two hours away,  that is where they are buried.  It is always a good feeling to pay respect to everyone who lived before us.  My dad was so happy and grateful that we took the time to  do it.

After the cemetery visit, we visited my dad's sister and her husband.  We didn't stay long but it was very nice to see they were doing well.

Lastly we stopped at the Nekoosa casino on the way home.  I don't like casinos at all, but my dad loves them.  My husband and I sat in the snack bar for 1 1/2 hours while dad gambled.  This is the reason I didn't cook today.  Actually I split this gigantic dish of ice cream with my husband, and we still couldn't eat it all.  So today I lost $2.50 at the casino and probably gained several pounds.
